Bridge restarts on
Thanks to everyone for making the Christmas Party such a success and especially thanks to those who provided such a wonderful dinner. Photo's of the event are in the article below.
Please enjoy your Christmas break and keep safe.
Bridge restarts on Tuesday the 9th January, Friday the 19th January, Monday the 29th January and Wednesday the 31st January 🤶🎅🎄
Experienced Monday nighters, please ask the novices/newer players to join you for a competition. We all remember as newbies how lovely it was when we were asked to play with a more knowledgeable player.
There is no partnership steward for Monday nights in 2024. Please organise your own partners or use the whiteboard to indicate you’re looking for a partner.
Janet and Jenny E played 96 hands of bridge online over the weekend in the IP’s-interprovincial championships. The team was 6th overall; our girls’ partnership saw them place 12th out of 20 with the fellow team members coming 15th and 17th. Congratulations on your fine achievement Janet and Jenny!
The list is up on the board and raffle box awaits your offerings. We hope to have 6 different raffle draws this year.
The doors open for the Christmas Party at 12.15pm with the bar open; play begins at 1pm.
· The entry is $15-pay at the door or online if you prefer. Table money will be collected by the bridge mates or cash if that’s best for you. Visitors will pay $20
On Friday night the 10th November, 20 of us took part in the national LoveBlock tournament. Sally Shaw and Christine Wood took out the top mixed grade and came 5th out of 890 which is an amazing result. It follows Sue Gordon and Gerda Corporaal winning the top junior prize last year and coming third overall out of 846 pairs. We hope more of you will join us next year.
We had a very successful Melbourne Cup with 12 tables; we raised $715 for the SPCA. Thanks to everyone for making the day a success
