Find a Partner - Monday Night

Hi Everyone

If you haven't got a partner and want to play on a Monday night we now have a new way of finding a partner for you.

Just email me your details at jsgebert27@gmail.com or text 027 4903010, and I will send an email out to everyone on the Monday night email list. The person who would like to play with you will contact you directly.

Please include your phone number and/or email address.  Unless you state it is for a three night competition, we will assume it is only for the next Monday night.

Class of 24

Congratulations to our class of 24 who graduate into the club on July 1. There are 3 not in this pic who are travelling the world but will return to play.

Huge thanks to our wonderful tutor Bobbi and to the many of you who have come along to support our learners on a Thursday evening.

Let's give them a mighty welcome when they arrive; remember to be encouraging and sparse with your advice 😎

Sponsors' thank you

This month we are showing our sponsors appreciation by taking them baking or some other lovely treat.

Willets, our major sponsor, showed how much they liked their baking with this photo on their webpage.

Thanks to you all for supporting our sponsors.

🙏

Class of 2023 Learners

Bobbi had 15 new learners on Thursday night [brilliant!] We need 4 assistants each night to help our learners. Please consider putting your name down to assist for at least one night over the next 8 weeks.

This week’s topic is responding to the 1 No Trump opener.

Learners' lessons

These begin this Thursday 18 April at 7pm with Bobbi. The first session is mini bridge; I know some of you novices are coming along for a refresh but you won't need this session which is more about  learning to physically manage the cards.

Teams' competition

The team's competition is running on a Wednesday evening 1,8 and 15 May and is open to everyone. there's a list on the whiteboard for you to add your name. The committee will decide on the makeup of the teams; each team will have one open, at least one junior and two other players.

It's quite a different experience of playing bridge; we don't use the bridge mates for scoring and instead return to our team after each round, compare notes and work out the score.

We'd be very keen to see you play on a Wednesday night and this is a great, non scary way to do it 👍
