LoveBlock Tournament

On Friday night  the 10th November, 20 of us took part in the national LoveBlock tournament. Sally Shaw and Christine Wood took out the top mixed grade and came 5th out of 890 which is an amazing result. It follows Sue Gordon and Gerda Corporaal winning the top junior prize last year and coming third overall out of 846 pairs. We hope more of you will join us next year.

Loveblock NZ-wide Tournament

The Loveblock tournament Friday night at 7pm is on! We have managed to gather the required 4 tables but there is plenty of room for more of you to join the fun so grab a partner and come along. $10 tournament fee-after play, you get a nicely bound book with all the hands and the possible/best contracts to study over your summer holidays.  Be seated at 6.45 pm as usual.

Melbourne Cup Tournament

It’s time to polish off your best outfit and prepare your hat for the running of the Melbourne Cup tournament. Prizes to the best dressed male/female and the best homemade hat. Arrive Tuesday after 12.14pm with your food ready for shared lunch, raffle, sweepstake, play and then the running of the cup. Entry fee $10-all proceeds to the SPCA.

Hosting Kawerau & Opotiki

Next Monday the Opotiki and Kawerau clubs have been invited to play at our club. This returns their hosting of our club earlier this year and those of you who attended one/both of these evenings are aware of what a high standard they set with the beautiful suppers provided.

Please join us for a fun night with our bridge neighbours and bring along a contribution for supper. 🍰

2023 AGM

Many thanks to the members who attended the AGM . To read the minutes and the President's report use the Minutes tab in the menu above

Our AGM is on Sunday 17 September at 2pm-notice attached. On the whiteboard is a list of nominations for positions on the committee. Some of our committee members have been on for a number of years and are standing down so we need some fresh faces on the committee; this involves one meeting a month after play on the 2nd Friday of the month. We would love you to join us
