Dear Bridge  Members,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you that Eric Burnie died Friday morning,  

HIs funeral is next Tuesday (1st October) 11am at the Hillcrest Cemetery, the Natural Burial Section, followed by refreshments at the Whakatane Bridge Club.  We would like a good turn out by our Bridge fraternity to farewell Eric.

Eric will be truly missed at our club, he was the Convenor and stalwart of Wednesday night bridge and regular player at Friday Bridge.  He has been a respected and influential  member of both Kawerau and Whakatane Bridge Clubs, playing at both clubs for many years.  HIs expertise, guidance and wry sense of humour will be hugely missed.

Please note that Tuesday Bridge is cancelled for that day and the competition will become a two week comp instead.
